At Surfside Cleaning, we’re passionate about animals! That is why we are proud to announce the launch of The Tails and Scales Project. The Tails and Scales Project is a community outreach program in which we spotlight the remarkable efforts of local animal-centered nonprofits. Our aim is to support these organizations and their dedicated teams and their contributions.
Canines for Service
Canines for Service, established in Wilmington in 1996, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and the longest-operating, internationally accredited (ADI) service dog provider in the state. Canines for Service offers service dogs to Veterans from all conflicts who are dealing with service-connected PTSD, traumatic brain injury (TBI), military sexual trauma (MST), and/or mobility limitations, all at no cost and without requiring any fundraising from the veterans.

All4Cats
All 4 Cats is a no-kill cat rescue and community outreach located in Wilmington, NC. They are an all-volunteer organization and their mission is saving and improving the lives of cats. Their primary focus is working with the community to rescue stray cats. Their dedicated teams nurse the animals back to health, spay/neuter, socialize, and then find them permanent and loving homes. When they are able, they also work with local animal shelters to rescue and re-home pets.
All4Cats is a foster-based organization, so their volunteers are able to closely observe an animal’s behavior to match them with the most suitable forever home. Their focus is saving stray cats in the community or cats that are at risk of euthanasia at shelters.

Fresh Start Rescue
Fresh Start Rescue Inc is a registered 501(C)(3) reptile rescue located in North Carolina. Their committed volunteers work tirelessly to provide care and find new homes for reptiles in need. Their work not only helps the individual reptiles but also raises awareness about these often-misunderstood animals. Whether they're rescuing snakes, lizards, or other reptiles, their efforts make a significant difference in the lives of these creatures and in the community.

Dauntless Dog Rescue
Dauntless Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that operates entirely with volunteers. As a no-walls rescue, all of their dogs are cared for in foster homes throughout the Wilmington, NC area, where they receive love and training until they find their forever families. Their work is fully supported by donations from generous supporters.
